Product Description
PLEASE READ THIS! There is no tool for a sharpener to measure to ensure that a FBV sharpening is completely in a piece of steel. No worry, we've been doing FBVs longer than anyone else in the U.S., and we have a pretty good idea how many passes on our machine it takes to do a FBV sharpening. However, on the other hand, we don't like to do excessive passes because that wastes your steel and reduces the life of the runners. If you are sending in steel for sharpening and they already the FBV you are ordering in the steel, you don't have to do anything. If you are sending in steel that has something other than the FBV you are ordering, please use the Comment section on the checkout page to let us know something different is in there. Saying something like, "This set does not currently have a FBV sharpening" will suffice. When you let us know, we will then do extra passes to ensure the FBV gets established. If you don't let us know, in rare cases, it's possible your FBV won't come out correctly. We don't want that to happen so be sure to let us know in the comments when you order. Thank you.
Note: A normal sharpening does not include removal of deep nicks, chips or gouges. Extra fees may apply. We inspect each blade, if we think they are OK to skate on with no performance problems, we'll do a normal sharpening and ship them back to you. If you know your blades are in bad shape, you can select the "Remove Deep Nicks and Gouges" option.
Note: If you are sending in brand new out of the box steel that has never been sharpened before, the cost to sharpen new steel is not $7.75 It is $23.25, so you must order 3 FBV sharpenings, we do not have another way to order a first time FBV sharpening on new steel on this website.
Note: We know the webstore allows you to select "Blade Matching" with this regular sharpening but Blade Matching is only available with a custom radius. Blade Matching destroys a radius so a radius has to be done after doing the matching.

best most consistent sharpening
Every time I get my blades sharpened, they are exactly like the time before. The sharpenings also stay sharper longer. I do like the feel of the fbv over the std sharpening g hollow as well. The blade exchange lasts only about 5 days depending on when I mail them out. Well worth the time if you rotate sets. All in all, couldn't be happier.

No comparison
No icing's FBV blows away anyone else's "FBV". Had it done at a couple other pro shops, and NO COMPARISON!!! Worth the time and effort to mail it off. Couple others on my team say the same thing.

Long distane skate sharpening
I've been using the FBV skate sharpening service for approximately two years now. I have two sets of runners and alternate using one pair while I mail the other set from california for sharpening. Instructions are great, and the turnaround time is excellent, typically a week from the time I ship to the time the blades show up in my mailbox.

I have been using No Iciing sports sharpening services for 2 years and have never found a better sharpening anywhere. they are more expensive becasue i mail my blades but it is worth the expense in my opinion.

FBV Sharpening Spot On
It is hard to get a consistent skate sharpening in my area. Even with shipping cost the pricing is close, but the quality is not. I will not go back to getting my skates sharpened and being unsure if they even did the job.

Skate Sharpening
Mail-in Service is convenient. The FBV edges they applied are always consistent which is what you prize in skate sharpening

FBV sharpening
No-Icing gave me great advice, not only on the FBV sharpening, which was much faster and stayed sharp longer while have even more grip than my regular circular sharpening, but also in the custom combo radius they advised me to use. I could turn from front to back more easily, turn more sharply and with greater stability going forward, and was more stable skating backward. No-Icing is great. The only time I got a sharpening that wasn't good, they said to send it back, and when they saw the error they not only fixed it, but sent my $5 shipping back with the re-done blades!

Best Sharpening and Profiling Service In the Business
No Icing always does a perfect job of profiling and sharpening my runners. I wouldn't even consider another shop.
