Incredible Durability - Love this steel!
I purchased this steel in hopes of retaining the edge on a flat-bottom V. I found that with Step V-steel, I would lose an edge after 4-6hrs of ice time. Losing an edge on a flat bottom is catastrophic, so I went back to a regular ROH with the V steel. I have now used Blacksteel for ~24hrs of ice time on a FBV 1/2 and, while a sharpening is now required, much of the edge is almost as good as new! Where I would have completely lost an edge with V steel, the Blackedge scuffed a bit, but enough edge remained that it was not noticeable (and I'm very sensitive to on ice feel). This stuff is expensive, but it is leaps and bounds ahead of V steel as far as edge hardness goes. I only give it a 4 instead of 5 because there might be something out there that might be better that I haven't yet tried.

Step Blacksteel
It is impossible to give a bad review on these blades. I went from stock Graf blades, which were ok at best, to these step blades. I will say the glide on these skates is unbelievable. I can't speak for how long they hold an edge yet. I have a a flat bottom edge on them and a custom radius. I know it is hard to justify 130 bucks for a blade, but it will pay for itself in sharpening and bang for the buck. Everyone puts 300 bucks into a stick but does not realize what you can do with a good pair of runners. Great finish and rust resistance. Fit perfect into my cobra holders. I diddnt even have to tap them in like some guys. 5*
