We take stock blades and customize them with a combination rocker radius tailored just for you. The combination radius can significantly improve your skating, even more than a traditional single custom radius. You no longer have to sacrifice speed for turning or vice verse, the combination radius maximizes the runner for top performance in all aspects of skating. This radius includes a normal skate sharpening. If you are an existing No-Icing customer and know your blade specs, simply select them from the drop down menus and place your order. If you are a new customer, email us for an interview form so we can evaluate your skating and customize your radius and hollow for you. If you don't need to fill out an interview and know the settings you want, choose them from the menu and place your order. This radius option is for those sending in their new regular stainless steel that has never been sharpened before. New steel on skates right out of the box and replacement runners do not come sharpened. So unless you took them to a sharpener for the first sharpening, this is the correct selection for you to order.
Note: If you are sending in unsharpened Black coated steel, this is the wrong radius to order. We don't have a separate Radius option just for black unsharpened steel. They do take much more labor to sharpen, so our surcharge for those is $30. How you order is to choose the Blackedge sharpening option along with a regular Combo Radius on Sharpened steel to come up with the right pricing. The Black steel sharpening option can be found in the Sharpening Options Category. Any Black coated steel except STEP and CCM brand SB Black requires the surcharge. Some examples of Black steel are Blackedge, Tydan, Massive, Bauer LS5, Blade Tech and any DLC coated steel that's fully coated and on the bottom.

First time having a custom radius and it didn't disappoint. I noticed a difference right away.
You hit it perfect.Thank you. However the saga continues. It seems that the holder is damaged and I will have to replace it. Any suggestions. When I put the steel back in the holder the bolt began to turn which separated the slot where the steel sits in. My local shop said it looked like it bent the steel, which is causing the wobble. I really like these skates but this is getting expensive. Any help would be appreciated. Graf G75 288 tuuk
Jared has always skated on 1/2" hollow since he was 7. Now 11, with new skates, I decided to give the FBV with Combination Radius and forward pitch a try per Bob's suggestions. The improvement is Amazing! Jared is a very proficient skater but these recommendations are so noticable its hard to fathom. His speed has incresed, as has his stamina. He cuts on a dime, holds his edges and glides far faster and more effortlessly than before. Frankly, I was a little skeptical but figured it was worth the try. Well it was extremely worth it, so much so, Im ordering another pair of runners once I can locate them. Thanks Bob for your recommendation, knowledge and quick service.
I picked up hockey at an old age (33). As a really big guy, my custom radius and sharpening helped me tremendously. They were right on with my hollow. It allows me to glide so much more than I could before. My radius gives me much better grip in the corners (no chattering) and my acceleration is much better. I'm from Central Virginia and it's hard to come by a good sharpening, I would and have recommend them to anyone!
Short turnaround (about a week back and forth from Hawaii), easy service to use, great blades! The combo radius does make a difference. I recommend No-Icing Sports.
Wish I would have known about this before. After sending in a skater profile I went with the recommendations that you supplied. I went with a custom combo radius and FBV sharpening. Totally different with my skating and I have been skating for over 50 years. Took a little time to adjust but now I have more speed and it's easier to cut on my edges. Will be ending all of my sharpening to you guys. Thanks
It is like floating on ice! As a weekend warrior in my late 40's, I have always dropped my skates off at whichever local rink I was playing at. Gave them my $5-7 and never gave it another thought. I did notice on my last sharpening at 3/8" (which is my norm) that it was not good. I was tripping and catching my blades and making a fool of myself. I hit the internet to learn more. My eyes had opened to combination radius and FBV and all sorts of stuff. What the heck, let's give it a try. No one in my area (Nashville, TN) could do the FBV A-Trap for a goalie, so back to the internet I went. I found noicingsports.com and they examined my personal skating attributes. They developed a blade profile and I ordered a combination radius A-Trap. Wow! Turnaround time was phenomenal! I hit the ice and was a little wobbly for about 3 strides and then the magic happened. I was skating better than I ever had. It was like my skates had a new found freedom. I was spinning around, chasing pucks behind the net, and getting to the far post faster and with more control. I'm hooked!! Customer service is awesome. It is an easy to navigate website with oodles of information. Go for it!
